Dear Members, Parents and Friends of 8th Wandsworth Scout Group

 

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Peter Jackson (Skip), Scout Leader at 8th Wandsworth Scout Group, died peacefully on Sunday 17th November following a struggle with illness over the last few months.

 

Peter has held several roles in Scouting including District Special Needs advisor, and District Executive Committee member. Most notably however, Peter had been first a Cub Leader and then Scout Leader at 8th Wandsworth, as well as a Scout Leader at 9th Wandsworth based at Linden Lodge School, roles which spanned more than 55 years.

 

Those of us who knew Peter will remember him for his kindness, humour, tenacity, and commitment to improving the lives of young people through fun and adventure. Leaders will remember him as a loyal friend, and dedicated mentor.

 

Our thoughts at this time are with Peter’s family, Maureen, Nina, Joe and Kate. May they find solace in many happy memories shared with Peter.

A funeral service for those who wish to pay their respects will be take place on Thursday 12th December, 3pm, at St Barnabas Church, Southfields, SW18 5EP. Refreshments in the church halls will follow.
